SPECIAL MUSIC EVENTS THIS WEEKEND! Message-ID: Hello Everyone, Several exciting musical events are on the calendar for this weekend that deserved an EXTRA edition to tell you about them. 1. Friday, September 16, 2005 - Macalester College pipe band to host Alzheimer's Association benefit on Friday September 16. The Mac Pipe Band will be playing at the Minnesota Masonic Home (11501 Masonic Home Dr, Bloomington, MN ? use mapquest.com to help you find your way) in the Landmark Center located in the Heritage Hall building. Starts at 7:00 p.m., there will be piping and dancing until 8:00 p.m. then at 8:00 George McCracken will be leading people in his popular Scottish Ceilidh dancing. Donations accepted at the door will be given to the Alzheimer's Association. The Masonic Home is where two of our seasoned Scots reside--Theresa McCracken and Ellen Macdonald. This promises to be a great evening and I urge everyone looking for something fun to do on a Friday night to trek out to the Masonic Home for a wonderful evening for an important cause. 2. Saturday, September 17, 2005 ? The Lake Street Garage Restaurant Come the end of this week we will be starting a new trivia quiz at The Lake St. Garage each Saturday at 7:30pm. This is especially for those who like to have a nice meal with their quiz and also those who dislike the smoky atmosphere of The Dubliner. So says Wild Bill Watkins. Always tons of fun when he's around. 3. Sunday, September 18, 2005, 7:30 p.m. The Tannahill Weavers at The Cedar. Traditional Scottish music at its best ? as tight and versatile as any band in the Celtic music scene, the Tannahills can summon rock-n-roll intensity or haunting introspection. Tickets are $18 in advance or $20 day of the show. Tickets are available by phone (Visa/MC) at 612-338-2674, ext. 2. The Cedar is located at 416 Cedar Ave S in Minneapolis, 55454. Check their web site at _www.thecedar.org_ (http://www.thecedar.org/) An especially eloquent mixture of the old and the new. ? so says the New York Time. Hope to see you at one or all of these events this weekend. Babs -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
