Scottish community bids farewell to Rod MacRae. The room was filled to capacity at the Friends Meeting House on Grand Avenue in St. Paul where friends from all walks of Rod's life gathered to say farewell to Rod MacRae. Lots of men in kilts and women in Scottish attire, which would have pleased Rod. Past and present presidents and Board members from the Minnesota Coalition of Scottish Clan attended as did Executive board members from St. Andrew's and others. Friends were invited to share recollections and many did including former High School classmates from West High School, members of the Scottish community, and friends from his trail activities. Sara Foss, Stuart Hoarn, and Ardis Ivory were among those who spoke from our community. Others present included acting MCSC president Jack McMillan, John and Ardis Ivory, John McKeen, Scott McKechnie, Doug and Eileen Stewart, Mary McShannock, Lynn Peck, Tom Lucas, and Barbara Humphrey. Bill Gilchrist was the piper. We'll not soon meet his like, again. 2. St. Andrew's Society elects new Executive Board at AGM. Members of the St. Andrew's Society of Minnesota met recently in the party room provided by Board of Governors member Debra Crane. A tasty box lunch was provided. An election was held and the following became members of the Executive Board: Bob (Mc)Olsson, president; Doug and Eileen Stuart, co-first Vice Presidents; Dana Drazan, Second Vice President; Steve Kincaid, Secretary; and (next month - memory fails me), Treasurer. Outgoing President Mary McShannock becomes Chairman of the Board of Governors, with Barbara Humphrey and Mr. McRoberts new members of the Board of Governors. 3. Scotty's Pub in Delano is Closed (Let's hope temporarily.) Wild Bill Watkins writes: Hot off the press --- Not good news in Delano. Scotty's Pub is at present shut-down as a result of a current dispute between our convivial host and the previous owner. We Celts know how to ride such rough seas and look to the future. 4.
